A collaborative research team including Takuya Nakashima (Osaka Metropolitan University) and Masahiro Ehara (Institute for Molecular Science) have succeeded in the enhancement of circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) from intrinsically chiral silver nanoclusters. The team revealed that the distribution of excited state (or exciton) in a chiral ligand layer of silver nanocluster amplified the CPL and proposed the importance of the spatial manipulation of excited state in controlling the CPL properties of chiral materials.
The result was published in Angewandte Chemie International Edition on Sept. 15, 2025.
